Virginia paints in acrylics, oils, pastels, and watercolor. She has been painting for almost thirty years and loves to try new things to see how they will work. Recently she became inspired to try black and white paintings and you may see more of these monochromatic works from her in the future.
Drawing was a dream that kept surfacing as she grew up in Pennsylvania. While working at the College of St. Catherine, she took advantage of the classes available and earned a BA in Studio Arts.
Vacations in Ireland, Scotland and Italy provided many inspirations for future paintings. Portraits, flowers, and scenery are some of her favorite subjects.
I grew up down the road from her and never knew anything about her paintings, they’ so beautiful.
I love the light in all of Virginia’s paintings. So glad to have this artist / cousin through ancestry research.
